Back in 2009 Mark Conachan hired me as Sr. Art Director for another agency, "Mountain Laurel". He told me that he had a new vision for an agency and he wanted to call it "Saturday". Together, the two Theckla's, Mark and I started a new shop with a unique vision and it's been a roller coaster ever since. Please read the below to get the gist of it.

Saturday is a creative agency that was founded on doing work that is compatible with consumer lifestyles, not the annoying, irrelevant stuff. (You’d think this was a no-brainer, yet witness 98% of the marketing out there.) We believe that compatible branding – our little buzzphrase, don’t steal it – can happen through humor, experiences, desireable information, cool technology or great design. So why is compatibility important? Because there’s making a sale and there’s making a customer. And how we make customers is to create advertising and design that’s enjoyable for people to interact with. We believe this is how we can be most effective for our clients; that in the broad scope of marketing our purpose is to give a brand a good vibe. It’s why our motto is, “Have a nice brand.”
