Megan Fox as Wonder Woman
Client: Wonder-Who.com | Art Director: John Howard
What a project, what a campaign and how about the half a million hits in just two weeks! I had to follow up with an explanation as to why I did it immediately because I was getting inundated with emails. It was a brief moment of madness that gave me the confidence to know that I can do it and that this is what makes me tick. So rather than me rehashing everything again, I thought it best that I pull the letter I wrote on the website (anonymously) to explain myself.
Why I did it.
Superman. Batman. Spiderman. They have all had their day of glory on the silver screen. Meanwhile, the woman of most men’s dreams has been stuck in Hollywood “Development Hell”. Like most designers, I too have been stuck in development hell. So I, as a designer, looked to Wonder Woman for inspiration. Why did I do it? It was the challenge of making something out of nothing.
My wheels began turning one day when I had heard that Joss Whedon had walked away from the original Wonder Woman movie project. I carried on with my day wondering who would be the ultimate Wonder Woman?
My day of wondering actually turned into many months. Upon much contemplation and trial runs, it occurred to me that for Wonder Woman to be universally successful she would have to appeal to younger audiences. And with that, Megan Fox as Wonder Woman began.

My first challenge was accomplished, I found Wonder Woman. Now I had to come up with an idea that would stick with people. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen a fan made movie poster, smiled, never giving it a second thought. I did not want that for Wonder Woman. She deserved more.
To keep the forums chatting and the hype going for more than a quick glance, I had to give this project depth. Rather than releasing a single poster, I created a slow reveal on my website entitled Wonder-Who.com. It seemed fitting to coincide with the election, as Wonder Woman is patriotic. Thus, I revealed her identity on Election Day.
During my week long release, the forum fans were beginning to spot the holes in my faux movie. Not to disappoint the hardcore fans, I covered my tracks, hence the Dark Knight reference hidden in the website. It was just enough to provide a bit of legitimacy.
To be quite honest, I didn’t expect Wonder-Who.com to be this big. I publicly apologize for misleading everyone into believing that Wonder Woman was to be a movie with the lead role played by Megan Fox.
So why did I do it? Perhaps this will get both Wonder Woman and myself out of “Development Hell”.
